WOMEN’S MINISTRY

Focal Scripture: “Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” Proverbs 31:30-31 NIV.

Purpose:

  • To encourage and edify women through Christian fellowship. Disciple women in steadfastness, fidelity and obedience to Christ in their relationship with God, their families, friends and community.
  • Expand and stretch women’s Biblical and Spiritual knowledge of the Word and its application to their everyday life.
  • Provide opportunities for women to have quiet and meditative time for their spiritual and personal health.
  • Transform the community through community service, evangelism, and the love and care of Christ.

What we do:

The Women’s Ministry reaches out to women of all ages and touches on a variety of interests and issues through the activities that are planned by the Executive Team. These activities include: The Celebration in Prayer Service, Pay it forward Community Service Fellowship Event, Summer Salad Social, Women’s Retreat, Women’s Day Service, and Spring Bible Study.

There are two active American Baptist Women’s Circles that meet regularly. Any woman of Calvary can join a circle. The active circles are the Bertha Matthews Circle and the Millie French Circle.

When we meet:

Meetings are called as needed for planning activities. No monthly meetings are held. Bible study is held with Pastor Walton annually. Men’s Ensemble rehearsals are held weekly on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Calvary.

Who can join:

Every woman of Calvary is a member of the Women’s Ministry and an American Baptist Woman. You can become more involved in our church by joining a circle, volunteering when called on for help with special activities or attending the Women’s activities.
