Purpose:
The purpose of S.O.W. Youth Ministry department is to introduce our youth to Jesus Christ. Through various types of teachings including (but not limited to) Sunday School, Bible Study and Youth Church; the children are actively learning about who God is to us all on a collective level, but more importantly on an individual basis. By engaging them in conversations and activities centered around everyday situations in which they can relate, S.O.W. Youth Ministry provides them with a safe and comfortable opportunity to learn how to put God’s commandments into action. Through S.O.W., the youth are taught how to utilize the teachings of God and make them an integral part of their lifestyle, not just something to do on Sunday mornings.
What we do:
The Youth participate in a wide variety of activities at Calvary Baptist Church including: Sunday School, Youth Church, Community Dinner volunteering, Annual Youth Day, 5th Sunday Youth Services, New Genesis Dance Ministry and other components of the Fine Arts Ministry, including the brand new Youth Choir. We also host various fundraising events (i.e. bake sales) and go on social outings (i.e. youth retreats, skating, bowling, movies, etc.)
When we meet:
Shaping Our World Youth Ministry meets every Sunday morning at 8:15am for Sunday School. On the first and third Sunday there is Youth Church and on the fifth Sunday, S.O.W. participates in leadership roles during our regular church service with the entire congregation. Church services begin at 9:30 a.m. New Genesis Dance Ministry meets every Tuesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. All other meetings are on a case by case basis, depending on the upcoming event.

All Calvary Youth ages 5 and older.
